Hello Chris
Impressed with your new website, I would like to make one suggestion about it.
The language bar on top right corner represents the 'chinese traditional' by the flag of taiwan ROC in parallel to the PRC flag that corresponding to 'chinese simplified'. Please be aware of this issue as might result in your website or even whole business prohibited within the mainland china.
I would like to see the clarification as soon as possible.
Regards,
Axel

Dear Mr Chris Henderson
I am writing to invite you to join the technical committee of IPSC2009 - International Power Semiconductor Conference <http://www.ieee125.org/celebrate/events/calendar/2009-11-18-ipsc2009-international-power-semiconductor-conference.html>. IPSC 2009 is an IEEE 125th anniversary celebration event in Chongqing China on 18th-20th November. It aims to demonstrate the momentous contribution to power semiconductor technology and provide an opportunity to present innovative technologies in power semiconductor, such as power device, process integrity, substrate technology, TCAD, advanced material, reliability and project management. Your expertise in semiconductor process and reliability will add the value to IPSC2009. As a committee member, you would review technological papers submitted and take the honorable privileges. You participation will encourage the public to recognize the impact of power technology on their life and promotes continued innovation to create positive change to this planet. Chongqing is a well-known historical and cultural city, which was the capital of China during World War II. Stimulated by the enormous potentials of Chinese markets, Chongqing has become an industrial and economic centre of Inland China with a giant chain between power semiconductor manufacturers, suppliers and consumers. IPSC 2009 will be a remarkable celebration event for the IEEE 125 years of innovation and ingenuity at the origin of Chinese industry, and act as a platform for power semiconductor researchers, customers and manufacturers. Should you be interested in and like to join the committee of IPSC 2009, please contact us at your earliest convenience. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you very much. Best regards, Xiao Fu Organizing Committee of IPSC 2009 Address:18 Beech Avenue, Hazel Grove, Cheshire, SK7 4QP Phone: +4477-1988-6324 Email:semiconductor@ieee.org |

Folks,
Although we generate the majority of our revenue from "live" courses, I believe that the future of training is online. There are several advantages that I can think of off the top of my head. 1. No travel involved (this is definitely a plus in today's world environment). 2. Can watch something multiple times in order to learn the subject matter more thoroughly. 3. Can pause/stop to handle urgent issues. 4. Don't have to spend time away from work 5. Learning is integrated with work. When you need the knowledge, you can access the necessary content. There are also some disadvantages as well. 1. It is not instructor-led. This makes it hard to ask specific questions and get immediate answers (must rely on e-mail or chat instead). 2. Harder to do labs. 3. Easy to get distracted. It may be easier to focus in a classroom setting. What are your thoughts? Can online training overcome the disadvantages? Do you use online training? If so, for what type of training? If not, why don't you subscribe? We appreciate your thoughts. Hopefully, your insights will help us produce a better product. Christopher L.
